Don't Worry Bee Happy! I love this!

Last week a very good friend of mine was having a bad day! I had been toying with ideas of what I could do with this darling stamp set I just had to have!

After I got off the phone with her I thought I need to make her a card. So I got out my stamp and got to work. I used my Copic markers to colour the images (I love them so much - the Copics that is. They are so easy to use even I can make beautiful artwork!)

I absolutely love our Sweetheart paper pack and decided to use it here and colour the flowers in the same pink tones. I then just used some black card stock to matt the images and make them pop. I added a touch of bling with some sparkles and voila.....I am really impressed with my card.

I think when you make something from your heart you can do no wrong - and it was just so easy!

Christmas Ornaments - Made Easy Peesy!

Last year I was Blurfing (surfing some blogs) and happened to see Tina Sutton's adorable ornaments. (You can visit her blog anytime by clicking on the blog titled MissGingerdots on the left side of my blog). She was showing how to make your own ornaments that are beautiful. So this year I thought I would given them a go! They turned out lovely and were so easy. I used some clear ornaments that I purchased at Michaels. I put about 40 drops of re-inker (colour of your choice - imagine the possibilities with 60 colours to choose from)!

After I tapped out the excess re-inker I poured in some Prisma Glitter and made sure that I had all areas covered. I dumped out the extra glitter (which can be used on other ornaments or on other projects). I added some co-ordinating ribbon and used some rub-ons I had to decorate the balls. I am very pleased with how they turned out. I hope you try to do them too - and have fun!

I wanted to show you how one of my Chipboard Ornaments turned out. I have not completed all of them yet, but had this one to share. It is of my daughter Taylor when she was 2. The ornament was very easy to make - colour the chipboard in your desired colour with ink. I embossed the top of the ornament with silver to look like a real ornament and dressed it up with sparkles and pearls.

Both of these ornaments are fun and easy to make and will be a beautiful addition to your tree or as a gift for someone else!

What this is our last day? Are you kidding me?

Well, I am very sad to say that tonight we will be heading home :(

We have an amazing breakfast planned for our last day - I would recommend it to anyone. It is at the Polynesian at Ohana's and it is delicious. It is a buffet that is served right at your table. The kids love the Mickey waffles, eggs and sausages (not the guava juice though).

We are able to see Lilo and Stitch, and Mickey and Pluto and every half hour the characters parade around the restaurant dancing and singing. It is such a joyful experience.

Well, we will be home very late tonight so I know that I won't be posting for a couple of days. I hope you have had as much fun as we have following along. Magic Kingdom: Deep in the 100 Acre Woods......Winnie the Pooh (My Favourite)!

Today we are heading to Magic Kingdom for an amazing day! There are so many different lands to visit and each one is more magical than the last. Where else can you visit Main Street USA, ride a magic carpet or elephant, fly with Peter Pan, ride its a Small World (over and over again:), visit with old friends, presidents and characters all before lunch?

Whether you are 1 or 101 there is something for everyone at this Magical Kingdom. Before we had kids JP and I had the pleasure of visiting Magic Kingdom for a day and having our own adventure. But it wasn't until our first trip there with our 3 children that I realized the true magic it possesses. It was watching the parade with them and seeing their faces light up when they met Mickey and Goofy and Taylor's face when she met Cinderella - she was in shock. To see the world through your children's eyes is absolutely amazing. Perhaps that is why we love to go to Disney so often - Kids can be kids (but so can you). It is OK to have fun and forget about the business of life - the housework, work, bills etc. You can let go and just be free! When we are at home there is always a constant reminder of how serious and stressful life can be, but for 1 week every now and then it is fun to let loose and forget it all.

After a great day at the park we are going to Crystal Palace to have dinner with Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger. For those of you who know me well this dinner is more for me than the kids - I love Pooh!

I have to say the characters are so wonderful without them it wouldn't be as much fun!

We're Hungry Like Animals....Tusker House and a day at Animal Kingdom!

Today we are eating breakfast at Tusker House. We will have a great buffet and get to dance around with our friends: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Daisy and the coolest duck of all Donald.

I have to say Donald was not always a favourite of mine. He has a short temper and is often yelling, but after visiting a few times he has grown on me and I think he is just "Ducky".

Here is how all the characters are dressed in Safari Gear. Every hour (once an hour) they do a dance throughout the restaurant - the kids go off with a character and dance around to jungle music. Last time we were there Taylor got to hold Daisy's hand - they are BFF's now. She can't wait to see her again :)

After we enjoy a filling breakfast we will head over to the Kilimanjaro Safaris and take an amazing ride throughout the Wildlife reserve where there are lots of animals to visit with. While we are staying at the resort with the animals in our backyard, we don't have Lions or Elephants to view (I guess they were aiming for a peaceful co-habitat).

We will then head to Asia to battle the Yeti, catch the Nemo show, ride some rapids on an amazing water ride, and then see one of our favourites "The Lion King" show. We will visit with our friends at Camp Mickey and Minnie's and then head home for some much needed rest (the resort not home home yet)!

Epcot and dinner with a Princess!

After staying up very late last night and having a great time Trick or Treating at the House of Mouse we decided to sleep in and relax a bit.

We are heading to Epcot after lunch to do some favourite attractions (Soarin,Nemo, the Ball, Ellen's Ride and of course Test Track).

After we walk around Epcot for a while we are riding the monorail to Magic Kingdom and then heading to 1900 Park Fare (at the Grand Floridian) to have dinner with none other than the Characters from Cinderella. (I really mean Characters - they are great).

We will get to see Prince Charming, Cinderella, Drizella, Anastasia, and the rotten Lady Tremaine. The last time we were there we went to this dinner an the kids loved it - so much they wanted to do it again!

Chef Mickey's and the Not So Scary Halloween Party!

Today is a very exciting day! During September and October Disney gets all decorated for Halloween and on certain nights has a "Not SO Scary Halloween Party". Tonight we are going - the hours are from 7pm-12am so we are starting our day a bit later.

We will be enjoying our resort and pool today (usually we only see the resort for sleep at night and the pools are a bit on the cool side in January). Going this month we will be able to enjoy the pools and relax a bit - something we all need :)

We are having dinner at one of our favourite Character spots - Chef Mickey's. It is a delicious all you can eat serve yourself buffet where Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald all come to meet, greet and sign your autograph books. (I will post photos of all the autograph books we made this time - we had a great time and they turned out really well).

After dinner we will enter the restroom as ourselves and emerge as members of the Toy Story gang! Jonathan will be Woody, Nicholas will be Buzz, Taylor is Jessie. Even JP and I wanted to get in on the fun......we are going as......Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head. I will definitely post pictures of that night when we get back.

Heading to Hollywood.....Studios that is!

Today we are going to Hollywood Studios. You know we have been to Disney 3 times already and have never seen all the shows at this park - but we are going to try this trip.

On the schedule today we want to see the Indian Jones show, the Lights Motors Action Extreme Stunt show (and my favourite...) Beauty and the Beast. There is also the Muppet show and American Idol and don't forget the Back Lot Tour (see what I mean there is so much to see and do here).

I think we tend to get distracted by the Rockin' Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania (we love those rides - I am the biggest kid at heart when it comes to rides :)

While it sounds like we are going to have a very busy day we will be able to rest at each show and enjoy some amazing entertainment.

We will also be dining at the 50's Diner for lunch we have never been there and it looks like fun.
(On a side note as I am posting these pictures before we actually left for our trip - I got them off the Internet and have no clue who the people are - they are all happy but not mine).

We may end the day by seeing more shows - I would love to see Fantasmic, but am not sure all my children would like it.

One of the things I love to do at Hollywood Studios is go to the Animation Centre and learn from Disney employees how to draw various characters - it is so much fun especially when they turn out.

Thanksgiving at Planet Hollywood!

This past weekend in Canada was Thanksgiving (Happy Thanksgiving)!

As we left on Sunday for Buffalo we didn't get a chance to celebrate - so we are doing that tonight at Planet Hollywood. This is the first time that any of us have been to Planet Hollywood. It is on Pleasure Island (Downtown Disney) and we will be sure to have a great time.

We decided to head to bed early last night as we were up so early flying. And today we wanted to take it easy as well - so we were at the resort and pool for most of the day and now we are heading Downtown!

We're Leaving on a Jet Plane!

Today is Monday October 11th and my family and are very excited. So excited we are all up at 4:00 am getting ready to hop on a plane at 6:00 am that is taking us to Orlando. (It is probably the only way I could ever get everyone up this early :)

After our short flight we will board the "Magical Express" and head to our little piece of Heaven that we will call home for the next week. This trip we are staying at the Animal Kingdom Villas - where we will have 30 exotic animals that live on the Savannah reserve in our back yards! I know that the kids are going to have a great time here (not to mention visiting the parks).

I am setting up daily posts (automatic) that will let you know where we will be heading each day and where we will be dining and with what Characters.

Once we are home I will do a recap of the trip, but I think this will be fun!

I'm gonna Shuffle off to Buffalo - and Shop!

Well, today is a very exciting day in our household. We are going to shuffle off the Buffalo to shop, swim, and go to bed early (very early).

Tomorrow we are flying to Orlando to have a visit with my good friend Mickey!

Mojo Monday Christmas Card

Good morning :) Well it is the first of the month and at the Mojo Monday blog that means a contest. Get your mojo going and create a card to submit.

I loved the sketch this week it was lots of fun!

For my card I used the Close To My Heart Creative Basics Mistletoe paper and the St. Nick Stamp set (it is darling). I coloured Santa in my new Copic Markers (any excuse to use them :) and used Fun Flock on the trim and Prisma Glitter on his beard.

I love how it turned out!

Halloween at the Trailer!

Here are some pictures of the Kids before the went Trick or Treating at the Trailer for Halloween.

When we were at Disney in January, Nick and Jonathan got dressed up as pirates. I tried my best to recreate Nick's make up for him (obviously Disney's was much better - but I was much cheaper)

His eyes are closed yet still open!

My 3 Trick or Treaters: Taylor the Pirate (I thought she would want to be a Princess), Jonathan the Football Player, and Nicholas the Skeleton Pirate.

Ahoy!

Nick was really having fun being a pirate - he did a great job carving the pumpkins with his sword (lol).

The kids had a great night and the rain held off until they got home (thank goodness).

What Have I been Up to you may ask?

So this September I opened a daycare at home called "Kim Cares 4 Your Kids".

I took most of the summer and got the room ready (It used to be a scrapbooking studio only).

I used some Close To My Heart colour inspiration and painted my beige walls "Sweet Leaf" and I absolutely love it. It is so bright yet calm!

There is lots to do and lots of fun to be had. We enjoy following the Calendar everyday.

The kids have fun singing and dancing (Head and Shoulders is one of our favourites).

We enjoy reading together and to ourselves.

And inside of all those bins are lots of toys waiting to be played with.

If you will notice I took my pictures at the end of one of our days - after I had cleaned up everything. We like to play hard, but they are great help when it is time to clean up!

So the reason I am not able to post as much on here is that I am busy making meals and playing trains - and when it is time for everyone to go to bed - I am not far behind!

Mojo-Monday - On Tuesday!

So I have not been able to get much posted lately - I really need to find a balance and get back into things.

Last week I went to a Copic Marker Class (Thanks Becky :) I was hooked from the start. I was given 2 stamped images to work with and I worked on one there and brought the other one home. I was able to colour it after I sent my husband to pick up some markers for me (I know am I nuts? - but surprisingly JP didn't mind and he did great :)

This weeks Mojo sketch is Round or Square and I decided to go with the Square. I made this card for JP's Grandmother who will turn 89 next Tuesday! She is a very special lady and I wanted to make it extra special for her.

I used Close To My Heart Cherry-O Creative Basics kit for the B&T paper and ribbon. The Sentiment is from our Birthday Script Stamp set and the Brads are the Twinkle brads.

I cannot tell you the stamp set the girl is from as I am not sure - I got it at Becky's. She is so cute - I popped her out a bit to make it look like she is sitting on the stump.

I must tell you I have always love to colour and use my water colour pencils and brush/blending pen....but I could never get the same effect from them as I did with the Copics.

I usually am a bit behind the times, but I know with this I am going to catch up quick :)

My Baby's first day of school..............

Well the day has finally come! My Baby is starting JK today!

She was so excited. We had a beauty night last night and did her hair, nails and toes - she had to be beautiful for her first day (her words).

This is my beautiful bunch on our front steps before we waited for the bus. The boys are so excited for her and promised to help her get to class.

They are all so sweet!

Here Nick and Zack (our neighbour) had their picture with Taylor before the bus came.

When we saw the bus she ran to the line - I had to ask for a hug and kiss.

The bus got there and away she went - she didn't even look back at me or wave the bum!

I am so happy she was excited and ready to go! I can't wait to get them off the bus and hear about every one's day. Hopefully it was a good one - she has 2 more this week!

Contest Entry - What do you think?

Today is a big day...the New Idea Book goes live today. You should be able to click on the image on the left of my blog and then leaf through it.

I wanted to share with you some art work I have been completing. I made this layout for a Consultant Contest. Each month before an Idea Book is released Consultants are encouraged to create artwork in 5 different categories. I decided last night (the deadline was midnight Aug.31/10 - nothing like a bit of pressure to get you moving).

The category I entered this into was the Level 1 Kit - you are ONLY allowed to use the contents of your level 1 kit. No embellishments or stamping. I thought wow how easy can this be.....wrong. While the kit was great to use I really wanted to add a stamp or brad here or there. It was a great challenge and the best part for me was that I finally found a home for these darling Santa's Village pictures (from August 2008 :).

I have lots more to post with the new book going live - but I will have to do that later, as I am waiting for my kiddies to come over. For those of you who don't know - I started a Home Daycare "Kim Cares 4 Your Kids" officially opened on Monday! It has been great but there is no time for being on the computer ;)

As Promised A Tutorial on Re-inking Flowers

I did this layout years ago (literally 2 years ago and really didn't like it). I wanted to add some flowers on the page but I didn't have any that matched.

That was until I made my own.

Below you will find step by step instructions to re-ink your own flowers (you could even do embroidery floss to match your page too).

First you need the right tools. For this I purchased a small spray bottle from a local dollar store.

I use Rubbing Alcohol to mix with the re-inker as it dries much quicker and does not saturate the flowers as water would.

I choose the shade of re-inker I wanted to use and mixed it with a small amount of rubbing alcohol in the spray bottle.

I am using Close To My Heart's Just Blooms Flowers (you get a mix of pink and white flowers that you can re-ink or use as they are).

I placed my flower on a paper towel and then started to spray the solution on. You can apply as much or as little as you desire. For this project I wanted to have at least 3-4 flowers that were all different shades.

Here is one of the finished flowers you can see that it is pretty dark.

I placed my flowers on waxed paper to dry. I found that when they were left on paper towel the towel absorbed some of the colour out of the flower, but the waxed paper allowed them to dry evenly.

As you can see, I had a great time re-inking flowers this afternoon.

The various colours really give the flower a life like depth.

All of our Just Bloom Flowers have a hole in their centre for you to put them together with a brad (I used our Filigree Charms).

To adhere them to my page I used Glue Dots.

I know you will like this technique! You can also place your re-inker and alcohol into a craft jar and dip your flower into the jar (you will get a different finished product as the ends of the flower will absorb more of the solution).

While I have not been posting much it isn't because I don't have things to post - I have been so busy lately :)

I am trying to get everything organized for my Home Day Care (which starts next week if you can believe it :).

I am also trying to get a tonne of artwork ready for my Idea Book Launch Party (September 10th 7:28-9 or September 12th 1:28-3 if you would like to attend call/email me).

I made this layout for the Barrie Library - I did my two classes this summer and they went really well. I am hoping to do this workshop during the Christmas Break. I used our Creative Basics Mistletoe Kit and the October Stamp of the Month (a Must Have) Sharing the Magic!

The layout is from the How-To-Book Imagine and is called "Personality Presence" . It is very simple, yet very festive!

I used a bit of Liquid Applique on Santa's trim and heated it for a very fluffy affect (I love this stuff :)

The new Idea Book goes live on September 1st - so you can play too!

Who wants a Play Date with Olivia?

I am so excited about my monthly scrapbook classes that I am calling them Play Groups!

After you see the three two page layouts we will be making in September I know you will want to join - the details are posted here - make sure to scroll down to the bottom!

This first layout was specially designed by Jeanette Lynton (the Founder of Close To My Heart) for this workshop and it is just beautiful!

The second and third layout designs come from a brand new How-To-Book that will be released on September 1 (it isn't much longer now!). For any of you who have never tried a How-To-Book but have wanted to this very magical and a must have!

I found these two layouts on the back of the Olivia Stickease and when they have pictures on them they are breath taking!

The colours in the gorgeous kit are: Barn Red, Pear, Smoothie and Sunset (the last three are new colours being introduced in the new Fall/Winter Idea Book). They all compliment each other so well and will showcase any of your fall pictures beautifully.

Lastly, these are the cards you could make with this kit - you can make them instead or in addition to the scrapbook layouts if you would like to!

I don't know about you, but I always like having a few cards ready just in case you need them :)

Each month we use one of the 'to die for' Level 2 Paper Pack s and My Stickease, as well as other accessories to create three two page 12"x 12" layouts. Trust me! You'll love it!

There are two ways to attend:

1. You can watch my monthly emails (please email me at closetomyheartkim@rogers.com to be added to this list) or posts on my blog about Play Group to see what we are doing the next month and to call and order your kit and sign up for a specific session.

2. You can join Play Group for a 10 month commitment. The benefit of joining Play Group is that you will get a chance to get a FREE CLOSE TO MY HEART SHOPPING SPREE in one of your 10 months. This month will be assigned to you when you join. Most shopping sprees average between $30-$70 in free product.

Either way you choose to attend, the following information is very important:

Happy Birthday Taylor - I am posting a couple weeks late!

So on July 16th my baby turned 4 years old. We were hit by an incredibly long heat wave (it really hasn't left at all still).

We were at our home away from home -our trailer for the week so before we went I baked 2 cakes for her birthday and then her party!

Tink was used for the family party - it turned out pretty good - I forgot my black ink colour - ooops!

This was the cake we celebrated with on her actual birthday. No one could understand what I meant by I was going to make a Barbie cake (actually this must be Barbie's daughter because she is too small to be Barbie). Taylor wanted to know if we had to eat Barbie or could she have her to play with (lol).

Here I hope is slide show of some of the character cakes I have made over the years. As each of the kids had their first birthday I made Winnie the Pooh Cakes and every year since then something new. My First Heart 2 Heart Challenge - Hope you like it!

So I made the card today for a Challenge. There is a badge on the left side of my blog if you click it you will be taken to their blog and see what the weekly challenge is - I highly recommend it!

This weeks challenge was to make something using Creme Brulee, Blush and Vineyard Berry Colours. I love them together. I took some of our Just Blooms flowers and coloured them Blush using our re-inker and some rubbing alcohol (I am going to post a tutorial in a few days it is very easy).

Once the flowers dried I stamped them in the Vineyard Berry using a stamp set from our Felicity promotion - I love the set!

I finished it off with a Creme Brulee centre and some bitty sparkles!

I made this card for a very special person - I always find that if you have someone in mind when you are creating it makes it easier - I hope she likes it!

I really loved playing along with this and will definitely do it again! So what are you waiting for get creative and have a great day!

Close To My Heart held it's annual Convention last week in Washington D.C. Consultants are able to attend and be dazzled with the new Fall/Winter reveal and business classes and lot so FREE stuff. Unfortunately, I did not attend this years Convention (I have not attended any Convention as of yet :(

They revealed many, many new products and ideas - I know you are going to love them (I am very excited about all the new changes). So excited in fact that I am going to share one with you right now................Ready?.........

Close To My Heart will be retiring 8 colours in the next catalogue and introducing 8 to take their place.

We will be saying goodbye to Clover Meadow, Hydrangea, Orange, Star Spangled Blue, Bubblegum, Citrus Leaf, Ocean and Watermelon. While it is sad to see some of these beautiful colours disappear there are many on this list I have yet to use.

Taking their place will be some delicious new colours to work with : Gypsy, Pacifica,Sunset, Cotton Candy, Lagoon, Pear, Sky and Smoothie. I am already starting my list with all the new inks to order.

At the Trailer Chilaxin!

Just a quick post today. We are at our Trailer in Stouffville and have been enduring an Extreme Heat Wave. The kids have had the pleasure of swimming at least 2 - 3 times a day and cooling off in the Splash Pad.

Right now Close To My Heart is holding its annual Convention in Washington D.C. I am so excited for all those who are attending. They are seeing the New Fall/Winter Idea Book and getting to play with a lot of the new products. Perhaps next year I will be there too - that would be so neat!

I have been creative at the trailer, completing our "Trailer Scrapbook" up to date, however, I didn't bring our USB cable so that I could post pictures. We are going home on Sunday so I will be able to transfer them then.

I cannot tell you how excited I am that I am teaching some classes at our Local Library! I am teaching two classes on July 29th and two classes on August 11th.

The first group is for children ages 6-9 and we will be completing this Animal Cookies Layout shown here.

The second group is for older children aged 10-14, who will be completing this You Rock Layout.

All materials will be pre-cut and ready for participants to assemble and make their own. Make sure to bring 6-8 photos with you so that we can put them on your layout!

You must pre-register for these classes at the Library. Registration begins on July 5 at the Children's Information Desk. Cost is $10 per child to cover the materials and must be paid at time of registration. Age limits are firm. Limit of 15 children each session and participants must choose one session only.

If you are in the area and able to attend I would love to see you there!

3-Ring Binder - Teacher's Gift

It is great to be able to make something special when you need to quickly!

So last Monday night (the night before the boys last day of school) when I started to make their teachers Cards I realized that I needed gifts too - OOPS!

So I went into my supply of projects that I could use and decided that a couple binders and a 6x6 album would be great.

I used the template for the binders that I found on Nona Davenport's Blog last year when she made hers - I have used it many many times now and it doesn't get old!

This Binder is for Jonathan's teacher Mrs. McLaughlin - she was great and helped him so much this year!

I used our Splendor paper to decorate it, Splendor Brads, Stickease and some Just Blooms Paper Flowers.

I am pleased with how it turned out and hope she likes it too!

Next year our daughter Taylor is starting Junior Kindergarten, so I must be a bit more on the ball with getting gifts/cards made.

Hello everyone! I started doing Daycare early and have been having a great time with the kids. But.....too busy to be posting on my Blog :( I have 15 pictures of this project posted here, so be sure to scroll down to the bottom so you don't miss any :)

So I wanted to share this with you. Karen Pedersen created a beautiful Mother's Day Album and was kind enough to share the cutting directions and pictures with me - I made one in the Veranda Creative Basics Paper for my Mother-In-Law, but until this past week (only a month and a bit late) I hadn't finished my Mom's.

For my Mom's Album I used our Silhouette Creative Basics Paper - it is so beautiful. I also used some Bamboo, Desert Sand, and Cranberry to accent.

I am really pleased with how it turned out and I hope it was worth the wait for her.

For some reason, the days and weeks are so meshed together that I am finding that the day I need the gift for is here and I am not ready.

For example, yesterday was my boys last day of school. So on Monday afternoon I thought I should make the teachers a nice card. Which triggered the thought that maybe I should make them a Thank you gift too!

Nothing like working under pressure (I honestly believe that I do my best work then :)

So I quickly looked at what I could make for 3 teachers quickly and was very happy to see that thanks to Nona Davenport, and Vicki Wizniuk's beautiful projects that they shared on their blogs...I was able to come up with very nice gifts! I am so blessed and thankful that there are so many talented and creative consultants who share their ideas for others to make too!

I will post one of the binders I made for Jonathan's teachers here on Friday for you to see - I used the Splendor paper and it came out lovely :)

Our New Board Book - So Much Fun!

Good morning. I was looking through some of the projects I have done but not yet shared and I came across this one.

This is our New My Creations Board Book Z1310 $8.25. It is a white chip board book with 10 pages plus the covers waiting for you to complete. Whenever we have a new Idea Book there are always great new products inside that everyone wants to see. This one has been challenging for me as I was not sure how to complete it.

In the fall I am starting a home day care (hence why I have not always been able to create and post as regularly as I have intended), and I thought I would make this board book for the day care children. I used my "Howdy" Stamp Set D1435 $26.95( - it is darling! All farm animals and the barn and cute sayings), to write a story called "Down on the farm". It took me a few hours to come up with a saying for each of the animals that there are stamps for and make it flow (I had a great time).

I have only posted the front and back cover as I am not completely finished with it yet. As soon as I knew I wanted to do a farm theme, I had to use the Cherry-O Creative Basics Paper X5810 $9.25. It was perfect for the covers. For the inside of the book I used 5 of the colours from the Spring Harmony Card stock Combo Pack X5682 $11.50 (The combo packs are great because you get 6 colours with 4 sheets of paper in each colour).

I sponged Sweet Leaf on the spine of the book and then covered the cover and coloured my barn image with water colour pencils. For the title I used our adorable "Irresistibles Lots of Dots" letters and coloured those in Sweet Leaf as well.

I just need to complete the inside of the book, but now that the story is done and inside that shouldn't be too hard (sure, sure).

The possibilities for what you can use this for are virtually endless. For me it is having some confidence in my self and just stepping outside the box and doing it. Cherry-O!

I just love this paper pack. I have to say when I first saw it I wasn't too sold on it. But once I had a chance to work with it and make my layouts I LOVE IT!

The colours work so well together in this Cherry-O Paper Pack Z123B $15.50: Tulip, Blush, Sweet Leaf and Chocolate (there is also some Crystal Blue in there which is so complimenting).

For these layouts I used ideas from both Cherish and Imagine (some were on the back of the Cherry-O Stickease Z123C $5.75 - great idea).

I love these New inexpensive "Opaques Cherry-O" - there are 6 adhesive backed designs made out of pearls (Z1319 $5.75). I took a close up of them here - neither this picture or the Idea Book do these justice. These are a great embellishments for your layouts and cards.

I cannot wait to get some pictures of Taylor on these layouts. I know they will look darling.

It's Monday! You know what that means... Mojo-Monday Card!

Hello everyone. Can you believe it...it's Monday and I am already posting my take on the Mojo Monday Sketch.

I saw this sketch this morning and immediately thought of winter and snowflakes. I was excited to use my Cuttlebug to emboss my Twilight Card stock (I sanded the embossed image to let the white show through - it is so cool). I used some paper from an all time favourite pack called "Aspen" it is so beautiful. I added some sparkles for Bling and voila I am done!

Now get going and get your own card done - it can be however and for who ever you want. The idea behind this is to help you bring out your inner creative spirit.

You can't see too well in the picture, but I stamped my "Summer Wishes" saying on the front of the clear card using StazOn Ink and it does not smudge or wipe off (too cool). I used our Splendor Paper new in this book - it is so whimsical and perfect for summer photos. I had to add so bling and used our Sparkles to decorate the outside of the card.

For My New Kitchen a New Receipe Box!

Well, as you know from a previous post we have recently had our kitchen redone (I LOVE IT - I CAN'T SAY IT ENOUGH :)

I thought I would make myself a new recipe box to match my kitchen. My colours are brown and beige and I thought the new Passages Paper would look great with it! So when I saw in the new Summer Idea Book the new Recipe/Photo Box (Z1322) I decided to get to work.

The Box comes in plain white and you can decorate it however you want. There is a very strong magnet (under the flower on my box) that keeps the lid closed.

I used our "Recipe Box" Stamp set
(D1364) to make my recipe cards. I use some Colonial White card stock and stamped the lines on the front and stamped a co-ordinating meal with the card (you can colour these any way you like).

I also made my dividers on Brown Bag Card stock and labelled them with the Stamp set - Easy Peesy!

This is a look at the inside of the box - I covered it with paper too as I thought it was too plain in the white.

For a very inexpensive cost you can make a very beautiful gift for someone (or yourself).

Think of how nice this would be to give to someone at Christmas time - decorated in Christmas paper and filled with delicious Christmas recipes. You could also give them a tin of baked goods you made - very nice!

Here is a close up of the stamp set and what you get with it.

I think it is great and very practical.

I am starting a Home Day Care in September and I want to post my meal plan on a monthly basis (nothing like being organized), I thought this would be a great board to use. Not only will it let everyone know the delicious and nutritious meals we will be having, but I will get to see this beautiful project too!

Have you hugged your Monster Today?

This was the first time we have been able to meet Mike and Sulley at Hollywood Studios. I was excited and had to give my favourite monster a big hug - Sulley was huge.

Even Mike who is the smaller of the two was taller than Taylor - she only came up to his eye!

They have a very cool photo area that is decorated with Monsters Inc. memorabilia - I took lots of pictures of the signs posted and used them as well as some stickers to decorate my page.

The layout I used for these pictures came from the How-To Book Cherish and is called "Unified Whole". I wanted to be able to use our large group shot and then have just a few single shots on the accompanying page. I love this layout and I was very happy to meet the characters - the are so cute!

Chip and Dale Anyone?

I knew you would be dying to see what this layout was with that title! Chip and Dale and Mickey and Pluto silly :)

This is another layout I completed while at the retreat. I used a pattern from my favourite book Imagine called Powerful Trio. I knew I wanted to do something with Acorns and browns and thought of our beautiful Twitterpatted Paper Pack - it was PERFECT for this.

I used some stickers that I had from Sandy Lion they were made for this page and I stamped my letters using our Poster Board Stamp set - I love it because you can use co-ordinating paper to make your title.

The picture on the left page is very special. We went to the Harvest Grill in Epcot for dinner and we were the first family to be seated. It is a special tradition that the first family get a group photo shot with all the characters. Usually each character comes to your table once or twice during your meal and you can get an autograph or picture with just them. Just another reason to love Disney!

Goofy'ing Around!

A while back I held a weekend retreat and I want to share some of the layouts I completed.

This first one was inspired by a fellow consultant on our Artwork board (when you are a Consultant you have access to the most amazing bulletin boards - there is lots of creative ideas and tips to be had there!)

I loved the look of the layout that (for the life of my I cannot find the consultant's name I apologize as she did a great job), the consultant designed. I even did some hand sewing and used my Cricut to make Goofy - -that was a blast and he matches my page perfectly.

Here is a close up of the sewing and the outline I did on the Goofy Title using sparkles and googly eyes.

I really love how this layout turned out and can't wait to complete some more layouts!

I will share another layout I completed tomorrow.

Zippidee Doo-Dah!

I mentioned yesterday that I have art work to share, so without further ado I present to you Today's Feature.........Zippidee.

This is a very cute and fun paper pack to work with (especially for those of us who love Disney!). The colours that make this pack so beautiful are Cranberry, Desert Sand, Honey and Indian Corn Blue.
The first two layouts are found on the back of the Stickease packages (for those of you who have not discovered this wonderful tool yet. Close To My Heart takes layouts from their handy dandy How-To Books and does them in the paper pack you are purchasing to show you a sample design - they also state which book the layout came from and what it is called....Faster, Simpler, Easier!!)

Because I am working on our last trip to Disney I really enjoyed this paper pack and have a few more layouts already planned to complete :)

I used our new Fuzzy Felt on both of these layouts they are great. They are felt with a sticker back. You can use them as a boarder or frame or cut them out for cute accents.

This last layout was part of the Zippidee Workshop on the Go - if you are a part of my Kit Club (I am changing the name to "Play Group - even us adults need to have fun playing" , you could do this as one of your 3 layouts. I switched the base pages from Colonial White to the Black as I thought it went well with the characters. I also used the argyle stamp in the Kit to emboss a boarder frame around the layout it really gives it a cute finished look.

Here is a close up of how it looks. I used our Versa Mark ink and stamped the boarder around and then sprinkled Clear embossing powder on it. I used a craft heater to melt the powder and voila, a really easy cute boarder! I love it and it was easy too.

I have not dropped off the face of the Earth!

Well to say we have been a bit busy is an understatement!

After 3 years of living with a very dis functional and old kitchen we have finally had it renovated and I couldn't be happier!

I was so happy that I thought the kids should ice some cupcakes on Earth day and have some fun too!

Here is a look at the final product. I have much more counter and cupboard space. I need to complete the back splash and we need to paint the trim and put down new baseboards, but it is workable and clean!

When we bought this house 3 years ago it was a Power of Sale and while we had a new kitchen on our list of things to do....we needed a new roof and windows more!

But the saying "All good things come to those who wait" is so true!

This is a view of our new island and eat in area - the table and chairs are in my scrapbooking room while we renovated.

Everyone helped out with getting our sub floor ready for the laminate!

Jonathan did a great job hammering in some nails!

Once everything was done I spent the week washing everything as there was dust everywhere.

I have officially started my Spring Cleaning and am loving the results!

There is still much to do to finish it off, but I know it is well worth every minute of it!

This is the "Girls Just Wanna Scrap" Weekend - can you say EXCITED?

I just wanted to post a quick note (this week I have been so busy with many things - what's that saying?...If you want something done ask a busy lady - that would be me right now).

I am heading to the Girls Just Wanna Scrap Weekend this evening until late Sunday. Deciding what I will work on is torturous. I have decided that I will work on our last Disney album and have printed some pictures and planned some layouts. I also have a couple projects I need to design for up coming events.

We have also decided to redo our kitchen and are on a very strict time line co-ordinating with the cabinet installers, plumber, electrician, (demo, painter, floor layer - that would be us). Everything is going as planned, but it is a lot of work (I just can't wait until it is done and all new and clean). I will post some before and after pictures when it is complete.

I want to wish everyone a Wonderful weekend and I will be posting some new creations next week - I am going to have a whole weekend to get some stuff done - with no kids (that is both a great feeling, but also a sad feeling - I know I am going to love the break, but after about 2 hours away from them I am going to miss them like crazy - Good thing I will have something to keep me busy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Good morning and Happy April Fools Day! I have been very busy this morning looking at the Summer Idea Book on line (one of the amazing Perks I have being a Consultant is that I get to check out the new book and Order products from it a month before everyone else :) Needless to say the April Fools joke is on JP as I ordered my supplies for the next 4 months - I am sad to say there wasn't anything I didn't like (it is a great book).

Enough about that. Today starts a new Stamp of the Month and this month's stamp set is darling. It has adorable pots, flowers and sayings that are great for layouts or cards you are going to make. I know this is going to be a very popular stamp set and 1 I am glad I have!

I made 3 cards using this set and our Caboodle paper. They are all just darling and were fun to make. For the card on the left I used the stamp set to stamp the pot on pattern paper and cut it out (putting it on a foam square to give it some dimension), the flowers I also cut (you could use black embroidery floss for the stems as it was not easy to cut them out). The card to the right (with the open window) I love - there are so many possibilities for this stamp, but I wanted to put a picture of Taylor in it looking out the window. I used my water colour pencils and water brush to colour it.

The last card I also stamped the flower box on patterned paper and cut it out and then used Bitty Sparkles on my flowers in the box.

The possibilities are endless!

Mojo-Monday Already?

Good Mojo-Monday everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are ready for a short week! This week's Mojo Challenge was great. It was very creative and exciting to work on. You had choices....Round or Square?

I chose Square, but I so wanted to make a Round Card - I just may do that and post it later :)
Next week my youngest son will be turning 7. He loves to make cards with me and is quite talented if I say so myself. I wanted to make him a Special Birthday card, so this was great.

I used all Close To My Heart products (except for the black velvet ribbon). The paper is from a retired pack called "Rough and Tumble" very cute for little boys and great colours. I used some Sun Kiss Yellow, Star Spangled Blue and Topiary Card stock for the front of the card (I even embossed the Topiary with Circles as it matched my patterned paper). But the most fun for me was embellishing the cupcakes that I stamped. I used our February Stamp of the Month "Piece of Cake" (a great little stamp set and so versatile). I embossed the image in silver to start, and then used our watercolour markers to colour the image. I then applied Liquid Applique to the icing area of the cupcakes and added some glitter then I heated it and it went all puffy (I love this product :). Then I applied a big dot of Liquid Glass to the cherry on top and when it dried it looks almost real.

I really hope Nick will like his card as much as I loved making it for him (if not at least I had some fun :)

It's almost here........

Well it's almost here........what you may ask? My second All Day Crop! It is being held up at Midhurst United Church tomorrow from 9:00-4:30 and it's going to be a blast!.

I was Blurfing (surfing other peoples Blogs) last week and happened to come across this darling little Easter Basket that Tina Sutton made (Miss Ginger Dots blog on the left side - click on it and you can go to her Projects tab at the top of her blog and print off the instructions). They are simple and darling to make. All the ladies are going to be surprised when they get there to have a bit of chocolate waiting for them (everyone needs chocolate...right :)

Here is a close up of one (not the greatest picture, but I think you get the idea). I used our Caboodle Paper Pack and the Bunny Love Stamp set (one of my favourites).

It's Monday and I am happy to have my Mojo Back!

Good Morning! It is Monday again and my boys are back at school after a week off for March Break! We had a great week, but it is nice to get back to a routine! I got up this morning and before getting the boys off to school I printed off this weeks sketch and started to think about what to do. I don't know what happened but this sketch was very inspiring for me and I made not 1 but 2 cards this morning :)

My First card is an 8x3" Card. I used our Creative Basics Silhouette Paper pack (it is so elegant). I love the crispness of the white and black and tend to add a pop of red when working with this paper. I kept this card very simple, but I love it!

I have wanted to make a card using our New You Rock Paper Pack - the colours are so vibrant and gorgeous. I also used our Rockin' Top Coats for some added pop, and I had fun using the Rock n' Roll technique on the guitar!

What a great feeling to be done this before lunch! Who knows what else I will get done this week :) Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Look what I made!

A while ago on one of the Blogs I follow, Lisa Stenz made an adorable purse. She found the Template on Bridget Louw's Blog (Click on Lisa's Creative Corner and then Click on the template and you can get one too).

One of my customers asked if I had made on of these and I told her I would try one. Well guess what...I finally gave it a shot today and I think it turned out darling.

I used our Silhouette Creative Basics paper (which is so pretty) and a bit of Cranberry to make it pop.

Once I made my own template it went together rather well.

I am going to make up some 3x3 cards and put them inside. There is even a treasure pocket on the front!

All of the cards I made are very simple but I love them.

I am always looking for masculine cards and found this one will be great. I used my Cuttle Bug Embossing "Happy Birthday" Folder and then sanded the Barn Red Card stock (showing the white core of the paper), then I placed that on the Cocoa paper and stamped the word "Happy" to the front of the card. Inside says "Birthday".

It is very simple, but I think it will make a great card for that special man in your life!

This next card I made using our Grace Papers - it is so beautiful. The colours are Barn Red, Cocoa, Honey and Twilight. I used the scalloped edge and some of our Just Bloom Spring Paper flowers to jazz it up a bit. Again very simple to make!

This next card again uses the Grace Papers, and was inspired by Lisa, a fellow Close To My Heart Consultant, she made a very similar card using our Silhouette paper (hers was stunning - if you want to see it click on the Blog's that inspire me label on the left on "Lisa's Creative Corner" and you will see her cards!)

I kept this card very simple using the scalloped stamp to create a boarder on the Grace paper and then I stamped on our Just Bloom Paper flowers using Twilight ink and a stamp from the Felicity set. It looks great!

This last card uses the Grace Paper as well as our Just Bloom Flowers and Feligree Charms.

I stamped the Scalloped edge on the bottom of the card and then cut it along the scallop to give it a nice boarder.

This is a Thank you card I have to send to someone very special!

It's Monday! You know what that means!

Well good afternoon! It is Monday and what a beautiful day it is here in Barrie Ontario! It is March Break and I have all 3 kids home with me (yeah! :) They have had a great day playing outside (burning off some energy) and while they did that - Mommy did her Mojo-Monday Card - Whoo Hoo :)

This sketch was a lot of fun to work on!

I used one of my All time Favourite paper packs from Close To My Heart - Silhouette! It is such an elegant combination of Bamboo, Black, Colonial White and White Daisy.

I made a very simple card and then embellished it with some BLING!

I stamped our Just Blooms Flowers using Desert Sand and a stamp from our Felicity Stamp set - it is just enough to give the flower a look of it's own.

Then I used some Black Velvet ribbon (hard to see on this picture, but it looks so elegant. Lastly I used some Black sparkles and Pearls to really make it pop.

The sentiment I used for this card is from one of my most Favourite Stamp Sets "Just Because" (it is now retired, but it is so lovely.

The card says "What a Wonderful World" on the outside, "because you are in it" on the inside (awe how sweet).

I must confess I really love playing along with the weekly Mojo sketches (but I don't want to give them away I really like the cards I make). I guess I need to work on that aspect of me, letting go and being ok!

Mojo Monday Card - I Love this Sketch!

Well I must start by saying that this beautiful Sunshiney (not sure if that is a word) weather is just what I needed to get me back on track!

Then to top off the great day - Mojo Monday Sketch 129 was awesome. I knew as soon as I saw this what I was going to do!

Here is my take on the Sketch. It is Springy and so full of beautiful pastel colours - and just in time for EASTER!

I bought this stamps set before it retired (Easter Excitement) I have loved it for a long time and knew that with 2 boys and a girl, I would definitely use it.

I had a great time colouring the little girl (I was inspired by Taylor with all those curls)!

I really love how it turned out and am excited that I am excited to be creating again!

Top Stitch Card - Happiness is..........

I was in the mood to play the other day and had a few minutes and this is what I came up with. I got a Sizzix Purse in December (very similar to a Cuttlebug - even uses the Embossing Folders) and I have wanted to do some embossing and haven't had time.

I used our Top Stitch Paper (I just love it) and our Heart Dimensional Elements (they were white and I inked them Baby Pink to match the paper), I also used our darling Bitty Sparkles (you can never have enough bling...) I had some Love Letter Rub-ons left over from a project and thought the Chocolate looked great!

Inside the card I used more of the Rub-ons to jazz it up a bit.

It turned out pretty nice and was very simple to make.

It would have been a great Valentine's Day card - I will put it away for next year (of course I will forget I made it by then).

Mojo-Monday Card by Nicholas!

Well it's Monday and we all know what that means - Another great Mojo-Monday Sketch to play with. I have not been very creative lately, and decided this morning that I was definitely going to have to complete this challenge.

It is my oldest son's 9th Birthday today - Happy Birthday Jonathan (how time flies!).

Both of the boys stayed home from school again today - they have a nasty cough that just doesn't want to leave them.

When Nick saw what I was looking at this morning he asked if he could make a card too - I thought why not. So I have just finished helping him make his card - he wanted to use all of mommy's toys (cricut, cuttlebug) and he did a great job. He picked his own colour scheme and ribbon. He just loves to make things and I think he does great!

So I still don't have my card made yet, but I know what I am going to do (that is half the battle for me knowing what I am doing). Here is Nicholas posing with his card for Mojo-Monday. (He is so proud!)

Congratulations.............Canada's First Gold Medal!

What a proud moment it was last night to watch Alexandre Bilodeau win the first Gold Medal ever on Canadian soil!

Alexandre was absolutely amazing in his run that earned him a gold medal and such an amazing person. We are very much into watching the Olympics in our house - JP has said he could watch them 24/7 they are so exciting! Nicholas however, can't wait until daddy leaves the room and races to me where ever I am in the house with the remote to ask if I can change the channel (he is only 6 so I guess there is more to life at that age than the Olympics :)

Personally, I love watching the events and seeing the athletes do well (regardless of the country they are representing). The determination and dedication they live by is amazing. To think that they have been practising for 4 years for their moment to shine and the result can be glorious or heart breaking. I really enjoy the behind scene story's they tell about each athlete, hearing what inspires them really makes it personal and that much more exciting when they win.

Alexandre's story made me cry. He has an older brother with Cerebral Palsy who is his "inspiration" and hero. To see his brother beaming in the stands cheering on Alexandre was just so wonderful - I must confess there was a tear or two shed last night. As a Canadian I felt so proud to watch him win, and as a mother I also felt proud and amazed at such a strong bond between two brothers! Even when he was being interviewed he said a number of times how he couldn't wait to see his brother and give him a hug!

Congratulations Alexandre and thanks for such a great night (while it was you who has put your blood sweat and tears into the last 4 years preparing for this an entire Nation celebrates and embraces you)!

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo......

Well, I am making a lot of headway with the laundry and getting everything back in order after our trip. But I don't have anything crafty to show you so I thought I would share with you some more Disney pictures (lol).

On February 3/10 we had an appointment with a Fairy Godmother at the Boutique. All week long she kept asking each morning is today the day I am Cinderella? And finally that day came.....what a day it was.

This first picture is "Princess Taylor" when she was posing with her invite to the Boutique (you can't see it but I have it for my scrapbook).

After going shopping for your dress and accessories we had to pick her hair style and nail colour (I didn't realize it was going to be so stressful - just kidding it was amazing and she loved every minute of it).

This is a picture of Taylor and her "Fairy Godmother - Catherine". This is the final step of the makeover where the Godmother sprinkles lots of pixie dust (glitter) over her head saying "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo may all you Cinderella Dreams Come True!" Lets just say mommy had tears in her eyes from the time we walked in until it was over - it was just too stinkin' cute!

This is Princess Taylor all fixed up with her sash before she gets to see what she looks like. She was so good while her hair, nails and make up were done. I think the most exciting part for her is that she got her own nail polish and left over make up to bring home with her (she asks every 10 minutes if she can put more on....too cute!)

She looked absolutely adorable in her outfit from top to bottom. Not a detail was missed she even had "glass slippers" to wear! The look on her face when she saw herself was priceless - it is on our PhotoPass card (which I haven't done yet so you will have to see it when I do the book....)

What a great day this was. I am so happy I was able to share something so exciting with her - I know it is the start of many wonderful Mother-Daughter memories!

We're Back................

Well, back to reality (boo-hoo). Just kidding, part of me is very sad to be home as we left such a wonderful place, and the other part of me is very glad to be home and back to normal. I just wish I had Cinderella here to catch up on the laundry - just kidding I am almost done!

I am having a hard time getting back into the swing of things and I have so many things I need to catch up on. I had taken my lap top with me thinking I would be able to post a few times while away and keep up with emails and such (but Mickey wanted $10 a day for wi-fi and I decided that we could have more fun spending that money elsewhere).

I am posting some of the 1000 pictures I took while away here now. These are from a dinner at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Hotel (right by the Magic Kingdom). It is a great buffet dinner and the kids love seeing the characters dressed up as Chefs and getting autographs and pictures with them.

This last picture is from Ariel's Grotto (her special place to keep all of her human "things"). The kids had a great time meeting her - I am not sure how she was able to wear her mermaid outfit that morning (it was rather chilly), but she was so beautiful. Taylor wanted to stay with her and kept asking where is Flounder?

I will be spending some time over the next couple of days updating my blog and website to tell you about the new Stamp of the Month and great special being offered this month.

I have posted this artwork previously, but this Saturday February 13/10 and Tuesday February 23/10 we will be completing these beautiful layouts at the Kit of the Month Club.

We are off to Buffalo and then Disney for 2 weeks!

Just a quick post to let you know that our day to go to Buffalo is finally here. That means we fly down to see Mickey and his Friends tomorrow.

The kids are so excited and so are JP and I!

I am taking the lap top with me and plan on posting a bit while I am there, it won't be much but I will post some photos and updates of our trip!

Disney Album - Catching up before the next Trip!

Well, I have actually been working on some Scrap booking for me - how nice!

I have a few layouts to complete from our last trip - so that when we go at the end of them month I don't have to be stressed about not finishing the last album.

I have had such a great time doing the layouts - I will be posting them and setting them up to automatically post to my blog when I am gone (ha ha I may be catching on to technology).

This layout I made from our How-To-Book, "Imagine" and is called "Fantastic Five". I will be using it in an upcoming weekly challenge and will post the details then.

This night we went to the "Very Merry Christmas Party" and Taylor (lucky girl) was selected to help a cast member to dress a bust of Cinderella for the ball. She was able to pick the shoes, crown, shall, everything to make her beautiful. The funny part was Taylor wanted to wear everything herself (lol). At the very end of the dressing, Taylor was handed a magic wand and was told to wave it and say "Bibbidy-Bobbidy-Boo". She did and there was confetti flying everywhere (she really thought she did magic :). When she opened the cupboard under Cinderella, there was a certificate and special light up pen for her - she thought that was amazing.

It is so neat to see Disney through your children's eyes! And yes, I can't wait to go back again - only 13 days!

Thanks for a Great Launch Party

Well....Launch day is finally here and it was a great day!

We had a great turn out and it was so nice to see everyone. I must apologize though, I don't think everyone received their Christmas Cards (which had the invites in them). I feel terrible as I sent out over 50 Cards and invites and know that of the people who were here today that at least 4 people didn't get their cards and invites.

I am truly sorry - they were mailed. I am going to have to think up a better way of inviting people - I would not want to exclude anyone.

The top picture is of some artwork I have done of 3 of the 4 new paper packs.
1) Veranda
2) Top Stitch
3) You Rock and then pictured left,
4) Caboodle.

I was able to complete all artwork for each of the paper packs and the Kit of the Month Layouts for each. I had some time to play with the stamp of the months - but not all. This months is beautiful it is called True Friends and looks lovely with the Veranda Pack!

This next picture is of some cards I have made up for an "All Occasions" workshop - I only made 1 of each of the 3 cards you will make. There are 12 cards in each set (4 of each card). I chose to do a Veranda, Grace, Animal Cookies and Emporium Set - they are so cute. You pick the Image and Sentiment and make them your own.

You could even do a mix and match if you would like.

This workshop is on January 14 (this Thursday) From 7-10. Registration ends today (but if you call/email me tomorrow that would be ok ;-)

The last two pictures are of the Felicity Artwork I have done.

This is such a beautiful kit I absolutely Love it!

I loved a layout a Close To My Heart Consultant in Utah did (this Blue one to the left) her name is Karen Pedersen - you can click on the left and view her blog and all her amazing projects - thanks Karen :)

I used these layouts to get some much needed catching up done on our last Disney trip (we are going back for another visit with Mickey and Minnie at the end of this Month and I am still not done the last Album - I am so bad).

I used Flip Flaps on the next two layouts to make mini-albums on the page so that I could put all my "mad hatter and parade" pictures together.

Have I said how much I love this paper pack?

I want to end Each day on a Positive Note!

As I have mentioned earlier in another post, I want to take some time this year and focus on me and getting into a healthy body. So while I try to exercise daily and eat well, it is not always easy - I want to keep track of my weak areas and celebrate the good.

I saw on Oprah one time that we should go to bed on a positive note and if possible write down 5 things you are thankful for each day. I think this is a brilliant idea. What better way to drift off to sleep than with a smile on your face as you reflect on your day.

I decided that I would get a journal for me to do this positive recording in. Then I got the new Idea Book and one of the new products that is available now is this new Journal. It is blank on the outside (so you can design/embellish until your little heart is content) and also on the inside (that is where I will be writing my praises).

So this afternoon I took an hour and created my Journal (I actually took the design from the Idea Book and made a few minor changes - but pretty much I copied it from the book - that is why it is called an IDEA BOOK :)

I used a new stamp set that we have that is called "Authentic" for the beautiful journal box. It also has a bunch of descriptive words that you can use to describe you and really make your project your own.

I truly believe they made this set for me personally - my descriptive words I used (you can't see them here they are too small) read: MY JOURNAL mother, wife, daughter, scrapbooker and the best chocoholic
(for those who don't know me I could eat chocolate 24/7 - hence the exercising!)
There are a lot of other words on this set - it is really neat.
So I won't be writing anything in it until after the Launch on Sunday as I am going to be very honest and personal, but I am very excited to use it!

Kit of the Month Club - Veranda

This month we are working on the beautiful Veranda Layouts. I have to say this is a very detailed workshop with a lot of accessories, but it is truly gorgeous. I had wanted to have my photos on before, I posted, but I don't have them printed yet (I am going to use this layout for some wedding pictures:) This first layout you have the cutting directions for in your Workshop guide. If you don't have the guide you can borrow mine.

This second Layout is also shown in the Guide and is taken from the "Imagine" How-To-Book (I must say this is my favourite of the How-To-Books the layouts are so nice). Again we use a lot of the Just Bloom Flowers (inking the edges to give them a pop of colour) and the adorable Filigree Charms - they just make the layout.

In case you cannot make out the measurements for this layout I will put them here:

(I am going to use .5 to represent a half and .25 for a quarter, etc).

I have been so busy, but I want to share some Artwork with you!

Well there is nothing like making New Year's Resolutions and within the first week breaking them. I had wanted to post on a daily basis - but really with 3 kids and everything else I do who am I kidding. I apologize, I don't think every day is going to be possible. I have made another resolution to get into a regular exercise program and getting into a healthy body is my main goal. So I will be posting on a regular basis but not daily.

I have also been spending a lot of my time getting ready for my Spring Idea Book Launch - I have had so much fun getting all the art work done and using all the amazing new products. I can't wait until Sunday (Hope to see you there).

Since I have not posted much art work lately, I wanted to post some art work that was made from the new paper packs. The art work I am posting is not mine, it is from Close To My Heart's designers and it is so beautiful.

The first Paper Pack that is being show cased is "Top Stitch" (X7120B). This paper is so beautiful - seeing it in person is highly recommended. The colours are Baby Pink, Chocolate, Heavenly Blue and Vineyard Berry and they are magnificent together. I love it!

The next paper pack I think is my new favourite....it is called "Veranda" (X7119B). It features the colours Creme Brulee,Cocoa, Garden Green and Juniper.

The paper is gorgeous - and the co-ordinating stamps and stickers are just out of this world. I thoroughly enjoyed using this paper pack and can not wait until this month when we use it for our Kit of the Month Club.

This third new Paper pack is called "Caboodle" (X7121B) and it is such a fresh and fun pack of paper. The colours are so adorable; Buttercup, Crystal Blue, Sorbet and Sweet Leaf. I immediately think of the beach and fun times with the kids. I know it will be a hit with anyone with kids or grand kids.

The last Paper Pack is for all those who are young or young at heart! It reminds me of Hannah Montana and everything cool. It is called "You Rock" (X7122B) and it certainly does! The colours are vibrant and the designs are hot! This Paper Pack features Goldrush, Indian Corn Blue, Olive and Outdoor Denim it is so awesome and so are the matching Stamp sets and accessories.

After my Launch Party on Sunday I will post a bunch of Artwork featuring all the new Paper Packs, Stickease, Stamp Sets and Accessories. I know I will have enough to post for a while as I have it almost done.

Kit of the Month Club Cutting Instructions - You Rock!

This month we are completing the You Rock! Workshop of on the Go (our Kit of the Month). At first I was a bit hesitant with this paper pack as it is so bright and bold - but after working with it I love it! It works well for either boys or girls and can be used for so many different layouts.
This first layout you have the instructions for in your guide! If not you can borrow mine.

This second layout is one I came up with for us. It has lots of places for photos (which a lot of you like :) The pattern came from Cherish and is called "Easy Inspiration".

Well it fits perfect with this layout (he is growing up so fast :( You don't notice how fast until you look at photos.

Kit of the Month Cutting Instructions - Top Stitch!

After working with this paper pack getting these layouts ready for my Kit of the Month club, I am not sure if this isn't my favourite pack (I thought Veranda was). The colours are so beautiful and soft and the accessories are so much fun.

This layout was taken from Imagine and is called "Understudy" it is so beautiful.

Remember one of the amazing things about our Background and Texture Paper is that it is double sided - a bright multi-coloured side, and then a monochromatic on the back side - the possibilities are endless.
